Biodata of Llorenç Comajoan

Llorenç Comajoan-Colomé is an Associate Professor at the Department of Philology and Language and Literature Teaching at the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (Spain). He coordinates the Glossa Research Group in applied linguistics, language teaching, and literature, the Ph.D. Program in Innovation and Educational Intervention (with Mondragon Unibertsitatea), and the Postgraduate program in professional development for teachers of Catalan (with the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona). His research focuses on second Language acquisition, language teaching, and educational sociolinguistics. In second Language acquisition, he has focused on the acquisition of L2 past tense-aspect and more specifically on the role of lexical aspect and narrative grounding in the acquisition of perfective and imperfective Romance morphology. He is currently investigating the relevance of applied cognitive linguistics in the teaching of tense-aspect and the design of classroom teaching materials. In educational sociolinguistics, he has focused on the longitudinal development of Language attitudes by youth in Catalonia. He has been the PI in research projects on written corrective feedback, the development of language attitudes in Catalonia, and the promotion of oral Catalan in schools in Barcelona. His research has appeared in journals such as Studies in Second Language Acquisition, Language Teaching, System, International Journal of Multilingualism, L1-Educational Studies in Language and Literature, Journal of Catalan Studies, Articles de Didàctica de la Llengua i la Literatura, Treballs de Sociolingüística Catalana, and Círculo de Lingüística Aplicada a la Comunicación. He is co-editor of Resercle, the journal of the Society for the Teaching and Research in Catalan as a Foreign Language.
