Keynote Lecture: Physical aspects of magnetic nanoparticle manipulation in environmental and biomedical applications

Dr. Pavel Kuzhir is assistant professor at the University Côte d’Azur (Nice, France), leader of the scientific group “Magnetorheology and Nanomaterials” in the Institute of Physics of Nice (INPHYNI), expert in the domain of magnetic colloids. Since his PhD defended in 2003, he has actively studied the rheology of magnetic and non-magnetic rod-like particle suspensions and, more recently, field-induced phase transitions and magnetic separation of magnetic nanoparticles both from experimental and theoretical points of view. He is currently involved in several research and R&D projects funded by European Innovation Council, French government and French industrial companies related to: (a) enhanced manipulation of magnetic nanoparticles in view of their industrial, biomedical and environmental applications; (b) rheology of concentrated particulate suspensions; and (c) industrial byproducts valorization for civil & environmental engineering and bioprinting.
